Loupe ("we", "us") is a fashion-discovery app that helps you find clothing from independent brands by swiping. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We designed Loupe to be privacy-first: you can browse as a guest, and any data we sell to brands is aggregated and anonymized.
Information we collect
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect an identifier from Sign in with Apple (and, where offered, an email address). You can use Apple's Hide My Email to keep your address private.
- Age range (optional). In your account settings you can optionally tell us which age band you fall into (13–17, 18–24, 25–34, 35+). It is never required, and we do not collect your exact birth date.
- Style activity. The items you like, pass, or save (your "Dresser"), and the folders you organize them into.
- Basic technical data. Standard information needed to operate the app reliably (e.g., app version and device type).
We do not collect your contacts, precise location, photos, or browsing activity outside the app.
How we use your information
- To run the app — show your feed, save your Dresser, and sync it across your devices.
- To improve and personalize which products you see.
- To produce aggregated, anonymized taste insights that we share with the brands featured in Loupe (see below).
How we share information
- Aggregated brand insights. Loupe is free and ad-free. We fund it by sharing aggregated, anonymized trend data with brands — for example, which products were most liked or saved. These reports contain no personal information: no names, emails, or individual profiles. Any group smaller than 50 people is suppressed, and data from users who indicate they are under 18 (the 13–17 band) is never included.
- Service providers. We use Supabase to securely store account and app data on our behalf.
- Brand and retailer links. Tapping a product opens that brand's own website in your browser. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we may earn an affiliate commission on resulting purchases.
- We do not sell or share data that identifies you personally, and we do not show third-party ads.
Children
Loupe is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Users who indicate they are 13–17 can use the app, but their data is excluded from any insights shared with brands.
Your choices and rights
- Browse as a guest — you can use Loupe without an account; your activity then stays only on your device.
- Access & deletion — you can request a copy of your data or delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your profile, Dresser, and activity from our database.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (e.g., under GDPR or CCPA) to access, correct, or restrict processing of your data.
Data security & retention
Data is encrypted in transit. Access is protected by row-level security so that each account can only reach its own data. We keep your data for as long as your account is active, and delete it on request.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
